Israel Becomes The First Country to Use AI in War:
Has Israel become the first country in the world to deploy Artificial Intelligence in modern warfare? If news reports are correct, Israel is leaning heavily on AI for its ongoing war against terror and continues doing so to counter enemy propaganda.
Two AI resources, Lavender and Where’s Daddy are being extensively used by the Israel Defense Forces in its ongoing war against terrorists, various media outlets have alleged. These AI resources are utilized by the IDF to identify and destroy infrastructure that could be used to target Israel with Iranian-made rockets and other weapons, the report adds.
However, the use of AI by the IDF has also come under heavy flak from the western media. They claim that Lavender and Where’s Daddy often identify civilian residential areas as those housing terrorists from Hamas and Hezbollah and their arsenal of Iran-made rockets and weapons. As a result, the Israel Defense Forces often target the wrong buildings and structures, which is resulting in high civilian casualties in Gaza and the West Bank that’re claimed as Palestinian areas, the reports alleged.
Recently, Qatar-based TV network, Al Jazeera alleged that Israel is using a series of AI powered bots to respond to questions about the so-called Palestinian state in live chat rooms. The channel claimed, two Lebanese researchers watched responses from these bots before drawing the conclusion that they’re powered by AI and operated from Israel.
While these news reports can’t be independently verified for obvious reasons, they could be factual given the extent of the war that’s raging in the Middle East after Hamas terrorists brutally attacked Israel on October 7, 2023 and the retaliation by the Israel Defense Forces. Over 100 Israeli kids, women and men remain captives of Hamas terrorists.
