AI Replicates Adolf Hitler’s Hate Speeches

A 1939 hate speech by Nazi dictator, Adolf Hitler went viral on the social media platform ‘X’ drawing criticism from various quarters. The AI tool for video and voice generation was created by ElevenLabs, a company that’s currently under scrutiny in the US for creating fake robo-calls, impersonating the US president, Joe Biden recently.

According to news reports, the speech is in English and an exact replica of the one given by Hitler in 1939 at the Reichstag or the German Parliament. The original speech was in German but has been translated with AI into English and features the real voice of Hitler.

In the speech, Hitler calls for the decimation of Jews worldwide. This speech led to the Holocaust during which over eight to 10 million Jews and persons of other races such as Roma were forced into inhuman labour, tortured and killed.

There are fears that the viral video on X might further fuel anti-Semitism and attacks on Jews worldwide. There’s been a spurt in anti-Semitic attacks on Jews in the US and Europe after October 7, 2013, when Hamas terrorists launched a brutal terror attack on Israel.

Furthermore, anti-Semitic attacks on Jews have risen after the Israel Defense Forces entered Gaza and West Bank in an ongoing anti-terror operation.

Another AI based application, Historical Figures could also come under scrutiny and face bans after it was found using ChatGPT and other resources to offer live chats with personalities such as Hitler as well as Heinrich Himmler, the architect of the Holocaust.

This AI tool was developed by Siddhant Chadda and had some 9,000 subscribers by Wednesday, according to news reports.

Other than Hitler and Himmler, the application also allows users to chat live with some 20,000 persons from history including Jesus Christ. These features have also raised eyebrows over the safe and ethical uses of AI around the world.
